Point guard Rakym Felder has been suspended from the men's basketball team indefinitely, Gamecock head coach Frank Martin announced Wednesday.
Felder, who has been suspended since June 30, will not be attend classes this fall, Martin said.
“Due to some unfortunate decisions by Rakym, he has been suspended indefinitely from our program,” Martin said. “I will continue to help Rakym grow as a young man even though basketball is not part of our relationship right now.”
Felder, a sophomore from Brooklyn, N.Y., was the backup point guard last season as a freshman, averaging 5.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 14.6 minutes per game. Felder's two best games came in the NCAA, with 15 points against Duke and nine points and three assists in the Sweet 16 against Baylor.
