Upcoming Gamecock Club events in preparation for football season

Several Gamecock Club chapters are having preseason parties and events to kick off the 2017 football season. Here's a look at the upcoming events: 

Spartanburg Kickoff Party

The Spartanburg County Gamecock Club will hold its annual Fall Sports Preview Party on Aug. 17 at Wild Wings Cafe in Spartanburg. For more information, visit the club's Facebook page at Facebook.com/spartanburggamecocks. 

Charleston Kickoff Party

Charleston County Gamecock Club will hold is 2017 Football Season Kickoff Party on Aug. 18 from 6-11 p.m. at the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation. Tickets are $45 for adults and include food, beer, wine and an open bar. Cocky and Gamecock cheerleaders will be in attendance, along with a guest speaker. Augusta Gamecock Club Football Kickoff

The Augusta Gamecock Club will hold its ninth annual "Football Kickoff" on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 at Tin Lizzy's on Washington Rd. in Augusta.

Gamecock great and sideline reporter Langston Moore will be the featured speaker for the event, which begins at 5:30p.m. Social time and dinner ($15 per person for adults, $10 per child under 10 years old) will wrap up at 6:45 p.m. and Moore will start speaking and answering questions at 7 p.m.

The club will be raffling off an autographed football helmet by South Carolina great Connor Shaw and passes to be on the field for 2001 at the home opener against Kentucky. You can RSVP for the event by emailing augustagamecockclub@gmail.com. 

Kershaw County Kickoff Party

The Kershaw County Gamecock Club will hold its 2017 Carolina Kickoff Party on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Old South Restaurant & Catery in Camden. Former Gamecock great and radio color commentator Tommy Suggs will be the guest speaker, along with Assistant Baseball Coach Stuart Lake and Gamecock Club Executive Director Patrick McFarland.

Florence Kickoff Luncheon

The Florence County Gamecock Club will hold its annual Fall Football Kickoff Luncheon with Tony Morrell of The Big Spur”/247 Sports on Thursday, Aug, 24 at 12:00 p.m. at the Floyd Conference Center on the grounds of Carolina’s Hospital System. Tony will discuss the 2017 football season.

The cost is $20, paid at the door, which includes lunch from Roger’s BBQ House. A raffle for Gamecock autographed items will be held at the luncheon. For more information, please contact FCGC President Scat Scaturro at 843-621-8008.

Greenville bus to Charlotte game

The Greenville County Gamecock Club is inviting all Update Gamecock fans to join it on a bus to the N.C. State Game in Charlotte on Sep. 2.

The bus will depart from the Hilton Hotel parking lot on Haywood Road at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Price to join is $50 per person and includes food and drinks. Additional coolers are welcome.

Charlotte Kickoff parties

The Gamecock Club will host two pregame parties and events around the Belk Kickoff Game between South Carolina and N.C. State on Sept. 2 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

The Friday night kickoff party will be at Flight Beer Garden and Music Hall in Charlotte and will feature music by Patrick Davis. The event is free.

The pregame tailgate party will be held at Reebok CrossFit at 415-D Mint Street near Bank of America Stadium from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets to the pregame party are $50 per person. For more information, call 803-777-4276 or visit thegamecockclub.com.
